Rounding out our crew, monthly contributor Lisa Kay Tate is an award-winning writer with nearly 20 years feature writing experience. She currently freelances and serves as associate editor of El Paso Scene magazine. She came out of the “geek” closet more that a decade ago with the full support of her friends and family, and works to encourage other women to not be afraid to hoist their light sabers and shine their own Bat Signals with pride. However, she prefers the word “fangirl” even if she herself has no experience in burlesque dancing.
Lisa lives in the crack of New Mexico and Texas, a region she fondly refers to as “New Texico” with her husband, Rick, a high school journalism teacher and photographer, two daughters, Molly and Erin (aka The Drama Queen and Frenzy Girl), Sirius Black (in his anamagus canine form) and enough dust bunnies to start a colony.
