Tim Shumate and Why Arting is Awesome.

Twas just like any other night of late dinner and subsequent couching. Him trying to find the balance of action and comedy in a film and me languidly perusing Pinterest. I came upon something that I felt was too good not to share: Tim Shumate.

I am loving his work right now. I know that some of it has been all over the Internet and I may very well be trying to catch up with the bandwagon, but you know what? I don’t care.

Not usually a fan of the Disney Princesses. I feel, as a former Anaheim resident and Disneyland neighbor, that they have somewhat taken over the Magic Kingdom.

That being said, I owned all the movies as a kid and it was thrill when I got to meet them on the annual trek to the land of super-expensive dreams. Although back then, it was really not too expensive. I digress.

Tim Shumate has taken a theme and ran with it to delightful proportions. No longer relegated to the sparkle and bling categories of clothing, bags and whatnot, Shumate gives the princesses a more adult appropriate face (and back and arms and ink).

But it doesn’t stop there. There is Leia:

There is Abraham Lincoln:

And then there is this kitty in a jar of Nutella:

I love it. I want it. I wanted to share it with you. If at any point during the rest of your week you feel a little glum, just peek at Nutella Cat and you will know there is hope (a New Hope) in the world.
